Rutgers School of Health Professions (
SHP) is seeking a Graduate Assistant to work in the Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation & Counseling Professions.
Working under the supervision of the Program Director, the Graduate Assistant provides organizational, clerical, and logistical support to ensure that project goals, reporting requirements, and deliverables are met in compliance with funding agency guidelines. This position offers the opportunity to gain professional experience in grant administration, data management, and program coordination.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Assist with day-to-day operations of the grant-funded project, including scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation.
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and events related to the grant (e.g., trainings, advisory board sessions, community outreach).
- Maintain organized digital filing systems for project records, contracts, and communications.
- Track project timeline, deliverables, and reporting deadlines.
- Monitor budgets and expenditures in coordination with the Program Director and/or university grants office.
- Prepare purchase requisitions, travel reimbursement and supply orders consistent with grant and institutional policies.
- Assist with preparing quarterly and annual progress and financial reports.
- Ensure documentation aligns with sponsor and university compliance standards.
- Collect and compile data for project evaluation, participant tracking, and outcome reporting.
- Maintain accurate databases and assist with data entry, cleaning, and summary reports.
- Support preparation of materials for presentations, reports, and publications.
- Draft professional correspondence, newsletters, and informational materials to share updates with stakeholders.
- Assist in maintaining the program's website or social media presence as appropriate.
- Serve as a liaison between students, facility, partners, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Minimum of bachelor's degree preferred in a mental health related field.
- Must be a Rutgers student enrolled in a graduate program, preferably with an emphasis in psychology psychiatric rehabilitation, rehabilitation counseling and social work specialty.
