Our Moog Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Program Manager who can define and execute projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for developing and communicating the operational plan, managing risks, and resolving issues related to schedule, cost, and quality. The Program Manager will also monitor progress and performance to ensure alignment with the project plan. This role has an onsite work schedule at our business unit, Moog Avionics, located in Mineral Wells, TX. Moog Avionics delivers customer-focused technologies and customized solutions for Special Mission, Military & Defense, Military Trainer, Business, and General Aviation industries.

Day- to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Serve as technical and program liaison for external customers and the organization from the commencement of a customer project until closure.
  • Lead complex projects, provide enterprise-level visibility to achieve operational objectives.
  • Advise senior management on issues, provide risk mitigation, work with subject matter experts to resolve issues and challenges.
  • Work with Sales/BD to review imminent opportunities. This includes reviewing technical solutions, design specifications, preparing statement of work, providing design engineering and certification scope/cost/schedule estimates.
  • Create engineering program plan and schedule. Work with engineering leadership to allocate project staff according to project requirements.
  • Identify and resolve project risks and issues, facilitate solutions and remove project roadblocks.
  • Ensure customer commitments and contractual requirements are well understood and followed by all functions in the company.
  • Manage project milestones and co-ordinate with multiple functions for successful project completion.
  • Control expenditures within limitations of project budget. This includes managing change requests from customers, schedule slips, etc.
  • Review product design at a system level for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate activities and align on next steps.

Here's what you'll bring with you...

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year College or university.
  • Minimum of 8 years' work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of the avionics certification process for the FAA and other certification authorities.
  • Broad knowledge in avionics systems and safety critical applications with team leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to sequentially multi-task, prioritize and interface at all levels of management and engineering.
  • Working knowledge of cost and schedule performance analysis and reporting.
  • Proven Leadership qualities, excellent communication skills and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and suppliers as well as management and employees.
  • Experience in being a spokesperson for the customer and the company.
  • Critical thinking skills to drive to root cause and appropriate corrective action.
  • Ability to mentor and lead other project managers.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to travel both domestically and internationally.

It'd be great if you also had...

  • Experience with the system development lifecycle including system concept definition, requirements development, system design, and system validation/verification.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards like DO-254, DO-160, DO-178B/C, ARP-4754 and ARP-4761.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD), understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and (DFAR)
  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience
  • Ideally, you are action-oriented, results-driven, energetic, and innovative in your approach to design and project management.

Salary Range Transparency:

Mineral Wells, TX $120,000.00-$140,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
