Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Credit and Collections Specialist in our Pittsburgh, PA office, to manage accounts receivable portfolio, support collections, and help improve our internal processes. You'll work directly with clients to collect past-due invoices, review aging reports, conduct credit assessments, and document communications. A key part of this role is identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline collections workflows and enhance reporting.

What You'll Do:

    Collect past-due invoices via calls and emails, documenting all internal and external communications
  • Review and manage Accounts Receivable aging reports
  • Conduct credit assessments, set up clients, and provide summaries to management
  • Assist with cash applications, dispute research, and resolution
  • Participate in weekly meetings with upper management to discuss outstanding balances within the portfolio and collaborate on resolving issues
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to optimize collections and reporting
  • Collaborate with accounting and management teams on ad hoc projects


Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in accounting or related field (or relevant experience)
  • 4+ years of experience in credit and collections, or related accounting roles
  • Strong communication, negotiation, decision-making, and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; Deltek experience is a plus
  • Willingness to work overtime if needed (compensated)
  • Interest or experience in process improvement
