ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 5 years' experience in the emergency communication center environment or equivalent Minimum 3 years' experience in EMS, ECC Education or equivalent Demonstrated technical expertise in CAD, recording, and dispatching software and hardware CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification (IDPH) EMT-P preferred Require a valid driver's license (for a minimum of 12 months), a satisfactory driving record, and proof of automobile insurance equal or greater to that required by the state of Illinois. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Occupational Exposure: Category C - No partners in the specified job classification have occupational exposure. AGE OF PATIENTS SERVED Non-Specific Task (N/A) no direct patient care INFORMATION ACCESS Partner may access patient care information needed to perform their job duties. WORK CONTACT GROUP Partners, physicians, patients/family, visitors, vendors SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Light Work: Exert up to 20lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 10lbs frequently. Occasionally (1-33%) required to lift/carry and lift from waist level up. Frequently (34-66%) required to reach, simple hand grasping from the right and left hand, firm hand grasping from the right and left arm, fine hand manipulation from the right and left hand. Perform repetitive tasks/motion. Hear alarms/telephone/tape recorder normal speaking voice. Have good manual dexterity. Have good eye-hand-foot coordination. Ability to see. Manage stress appropriately. Make decisions under pressure. Manage anger/fear/hostility/violence of others appropriately. Handle multiple priorities. Work independently. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION Responsibilities include interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; employee adherence to annual education and certification requirements. Require strong organizational skills and strong, effective verbal and written communications skills. Require the ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions. Maintain quality customer service and basic PC skills/Windows software. Other duties include clerical filing, phones, and data entry. Work independently. SUPERVISES Directly supervises RockCom/Emergency Communication Center partners. Supervisory responsibilities are conducted in accordance with directives of management, the organization's policies, and applicable laws.
