The Division of Student Affairs comprises over 30 departments, each responsible for providing various student support, services, and educational programs accessible to the university community. | Job Duties |
The primary purpose of the Office Assistant position will be to provide office support for the Center for Counseling and Student Development staff which includes 18 full-time therapists. This position also serves as receptionist for the center, which includes extensive public contact.
Public Contact (50%): The Office Assistant serves as the primary receptionist for the department, providing frontline support to students, faculty, staff, and parents through both inperson interactions and telephone communications. This position will display high level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment due to the confidential and sensitive nature of the office's work. This position will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, reliability, adaptability, and in a fastpaced, highpressure environment. Extensive public contact is a vital component of this role.
Office Equipment Operation (20%): This position will use a desktop computer and laptop as needed to perform daily tasks. Fax machine and photocopier are also used to send requested information. Software packages used are Microsoft Office, email and university student database.
Files (20%): Retention of records that are electronic, and thus scanning paper documents into charts, ensuring accurate assignment of cases and assisting with regular purging of records is an aspect of this position.
Other (10%): Duties as assigned assisting with office operations supporting counseling staff, office manager, and director as needed. |
