Location: Northfield Community Education Center
Scheduled hours/days: As needed, up to 550 hours/year.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education.
Valid MN Teaching License, Adult Basic Education licensure preferred.
Knowledge of Adult Basic Education content standards.
Knowledge of adult learning and unique needs of adult learners, especially English language learners.
Previous experience teaching Adult Basic Education.
Pay Rate/Range: 2026-2027 NEA Agreement BA-$57,681 - MA40-$95,320. Base pay DOQ.
Compensation/Benefits/Perks: This position is not eligible for benefits.
Deadline: Open Until Filled -- EOE (2/24/2026) Employment is contingent upon completion of a background check.
Responsibilities:
• Teach Adult Basic Education classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at the Northfield Community Education Center.
• Daily planning and developing lesson plans for students and volunteers who assist the class.
• Assess, evaluate and respond to student performance and needs. Participate in professional development and staff meetings, as required.
