Design Specialist - Workwear/Outerwear

Focus of category is functional apparel including workwear, flame resistant apparel, and men's outerwear. This category manages a ranges of products from bottoms, denim, shirts, knits and jackets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Design team in the development and design of seasonal product lines and special projects. This includes designing and developing product line to include fabric, and overall style details to visual execution. This includes entering and tracking all virtual and physical prototypes.
• Responsible for building visual line plan under design's guidance. Support team in creating illustrator design files, line art for line reviews.
• Responsible for all CAD work to present the line to accounts. Manages distribution and execution of all seasonal and carry over CAD files. Photoshop is required.Adobe Illustrator skills are required.
• Organizes and assist product development team on fit protos and fit sessions.
• Develops and track trim library, fabric submits, lab dips, and artwork submits. Strong organizational skills preffered.
• Communicates all key product details to merchandising team for sell in purposes and execution.
• Prepare and prep product line for account meetings

Skills for Success:

• Good Illustration skills and color sense preferred
• Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop experience required
• Print Pattern/Plaid creation skills preferred. Ability to create new artwork as well as recolor existing in Adobe Illustrator/NED Graphics.
• Familiarity with Lotta/V-Stitcher - preferred but not required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and email applications
• Ability to think creatively, focus on details, and a commitment to quality of work
• Ability to problem solve for consumer needs and create functional product design solutions.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong multi-tasking capabilities

Experience/Education:

Years of Related Professional Experience: One year professional experience and/or training in apparel

Educational/Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in apparel design, Art, graphics or equivalent combination of experience preferred
