The Energy Business Unit is seeking an experienced Power Delivery Project Manager to support and grow our power delivery practice in Colorado and the surrounding Rocky Mountain region.

As a Power Delivery Project Manager, you will play a key role in expanding DEA's presence in the Colorado power delivery market while leading complex utility infrastructure projects. You will serve as both a technical leader and business development champion, supporting medium- to high-voltage substations, transmission systems, electrical studies, and owner's engineer services. This role combines strategic growth initiatives with hands-on project leadership and offers opportunities for expanded responsibility within DEA's Energy practice.

The location for this position is Denver, CO (hybrid-friendly). Some travel within Colorado and neighboring states for business development and project execution may be required.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify DEA's Cultural Drivers internally and externally.
  • Serve as a pursuit champion and project manager for power delivery projects throughout Colorado.
  • Lead business development efforts including client engagement, opportunity tracking, scope development, fee estimating, and proposal support.
  • Develop scopes of work, prepare design fee estimates, and support marketing and proposal efforts for new projects.
  • Provide technical and design leadership to multidisciplinary project teams including substation, transmission, and studies staff.
  • Ensure excellence in project delivery including team development, project setup, execution, closeout, quality control, schedule adherence, and budget performance consistent with industry standards of care.
  • Review engineering documents and deliverables to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and DEA's Quality Management Program.
  • Coordinate with Substation and Transmission Practice and Group Leaders to align staffing resources with existing project workloads and future commitments.
  • Manage subcontractors and support consultants involved in power delivery projects.
  • Oversee project financial performance including contract negotiation, revenue forecasting, workload planning, and project accounting.
  • Adhere to firmwide tools, processes, and policies including contracting, risk management, quality assurance, and documentation requirements.
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Fifteen (8) + years of experience as a civil or electrical engineer supporting substation, transmission, or power system studies projects.
  • Experience managing subcontractors specific to power delivery projects.
  • Five (5) + years of experience in a business development role serving clients in the power delivery market.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Twenty (15) + years of applicable industry experience.
  • Experience working with public and investor-owned utilities in Colorado or the Rocky Mountain region.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Understanding of professional services contracting, risk management, and experience negotiating contract terms and conditions with clients.
  • Experience managing Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.

* The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
