Position Summary: The Extra Help Building Service Worker performs the services that provide a clean, safe and sanitary environment for Campus Housing residents, guests and staff. Duties & Responsibilities: Perform tasks relating to the maintenance of floors and other surfaces, including vacuuming, mopping and washing. Perform tasks relating to the renovation of floor surfaces, including application of stripping/finish chemical, scrubbing, scrapping, and buffing. Perform tasks relating to providing a clean/healthy environment in residence hall bathrooms and public restrooms including approved methods of handling/cleaning blood borne pathogens and other body fluids in lavatories, sinks, shower stalls, bathtubs and toilets. Perform tasks relating to the cleaning, sanitizing and/or dusting of windows, wall partitions, door glass, furniture, baseboards, waste receptacles, garbage compactors, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators. Shovel or sweep snow from steps and immediate areas at building entrances. Using approved methods and formulas, mix cleaning chemicals for application. Provide maintenance of carpet flooring- Operate automatic scrubbers, power sweepers, vacuums and buffers used in connection with building cleaning. Collect and place debris and recyclable materials removed from buildings in containers for removal. Move furniture, supplies and miscellaneous equipment as needed. Responsible for the handling of keys, locking and unlocking doors to buildings, offices, meeting rooms, or student rooms. Report all items that require maintenance/repair. Provide effective customer service to residents, guests and customers Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 1.
