Reimbursement Specialist (Insurance Follow Up & Collections)

Overview:

Innovative Renal Care is seeking a Reimbursement Specialist I to support our dialysis revenue cycle team. This role is responsible for the accurate and efficient billing and collection of health insurance payments for an assigned group of dialysis facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in medical billing, insurance reimbursement, claims follow-up, appeals, and insurance collections who are comfortable working with payors by phone and online portals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately collect insurance payments for assigned dialysis facilities/financial classes
• Obtain and track claim status through phone calls and online insurance portals
• Compose, submit, and follow up on claims appeals
• Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to identify payment issues
• Identify, address, submit, and process claim adjustments
• Build effective working relationships with insurance carriers and representatives
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve reimbursement and payment issues

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field (preferred)
• 0-2 years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, billing, or insurance collections
• Familiarity with dialysis or healthcare billing is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong communication skills and high attention to detail
• Customer-first mindset with a collaborative approach
