Job Description Nidec Americas Holding Corporation ("NAHC") seeks an experienced attorney with substantial global compliance experience for an excellent opportunity to serve as Senior Compliance Counsel, Regional Compliance Officer and Global Compliance Strategy Leader. The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Global Compliance Strategy Team of Nidec Corporation ("Nidec") and lead one or more direct reports to support Nidec's businesses in the Americas. This position will report into Nidec headquarters in Kyoto, Japan, and NAHC headquarters in St. Louis, MO. Position Overview The Senior Compliance Counsel, Regional Compliance Officer and Global Compliance Strategy Leader works as a member of the Global Compliance Leadership Team under the direction of the Nidec Chief Legal Officer to monitor applicable laws, regulations and enforcement activities, establish ethics and compliance policies and training based on the Nidec global operations and best practices, and provide strategic support to Nidec's Chief Compliance Officer to achieve Nidec's global business objectives in alignment with its ethical values and applicable law. The position is also responsible for implementing, enhancing and overseeing Nidec's compliance program in the Americas to achieve the company's goals in alignment with its ethical culture. This role requires strategic leadership, expertise in regulatory expectations, proactive risk management and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. We work in a fast-paced, hands-on, small team environment, where being both a self-starter and team player is critical. Key Responsibilities *Continuously assess the maturity and effectiveness of Nidec's compliance program so that it can be enhanced as necessary to ensure alignment with legal requirements, strategic goals, and best practices. * Identify ethics and compliance risks through the implementation of a robust risk assessment framework. * Advise and support Americas affiliate personnel on global program implementation and applicable legal/regulatory requirements. * Provide cross functional support to ensure ethical culture, and management of responsible sourcing initiatives and human rights risks in Nidec's operations and supply chains. * Contribute to the development, revision, and implementation of ethics and compliance policies to manage risks. * Contribute to the development and be responsible for the implementation in the Americas of ethics and compliance training and communications materials that promote ethical conduct. * Conduct and/or supervise internal investigations for Nidec companies' operations in the Americas. * Coordinate annual global compliance conferences to foster shared knowledge among compliance personnel and sharing of resources to drive down compliance related costs. * * Oversee management of Nidec's Hotline in the Americas. Qualifications * A J.D. degree and active bar membership in good standing in any U.S. state. * Minimum of 7 years of related compliance experience in a top law firm, government agency and/or senior level in-house role at a global company. * In-depth knowledge of corporate ethics and compliance program requirements. Expertise in anti-corruption, antitrust, anti-money laundering, insider trading, economic sanctions, privacy and social responsibility laws preferred.
