The Senior Manager, Product Documentation leads the creation of highquality technical content that supports a broad portfolio of hardware, software, and firmware products serving the utility, energy, water, and smartcity sectors. In this role, you will manage a distributed team of technical writers and establish the strategies, standards, and tools that ensure documentation is accurate, accessible, and aligned with business and customer needs.
You will foster a culture of continuous improvement-encouraging innovation, championing efficient workflows, and empowering your team to deliver exceptional customercentric content that enhances product understanding and supports the success of utilities and communities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and communicate documentation standards that ensure content is correct, complete, consistent, and aligned with branding and style guidelines.
- Review and evaluate documentation output to uphold high levels of quality, clarity, and usability.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of technical writers, creating an inclusive and collaborative environment that encourages growth, accountability, and innovation.
- Provide coaching and guidance to help team members deepen technical and business knowledge, achieve development goals, and deliver content that meets customer needs.
- Evaluate, select, and oversee publishing and production tools, ensuring solutions support agile, scalable, and efficient workflows.
- Identify, pilot, and implement new technologies-including automation and AI-to continuously improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience.
- Partner closely with crossfunctional product teams to determine documentation requirements, create documentation plans, and provide reliable scope, scheduling, and resource estimates.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure documentation is accessible through customerfacing portals and distribution channels, enabling a seamless user experience.
- Manage translation workflows and vendor relationships to ensure highquality global documentation that meets international customer needs.
- Contribute directly to writing and editing documentation as needed to support team goals and ensure delivery of highquality content.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience leading documentation teams responsible for advanced technical product content, ideally within a technology, utilities, or energyrelated organization.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build trust, promote accountability, and cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and highperforming team culture.
- Proven ability to manage documentation standards, content strategy, and crossfunctional partnerships in a fastpaced and agile environment.
- Experience with modern documentation frameworks, information architecture, and structured writing methodologies.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience working with tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe Creative Cloud, and translation/localization platforms.
- Experience with accessibility best practices and standards.
- Familiarity with automation, AIdriven content tools, or other emerging technologies that enhance documentation processes.
- Knowledge of utility, energy, water, or smartcity technology solutions and the unique needs of customers in these sectors.
- Background supporting global documentation and multilingual content strategies.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience and may vary by location. The base salary is $125,000 - $279,000. This position is eligible for our annual bonus program.
