The Opportunity
At Expedition Technology, we are a mission-driven, Agile-first organization supporting the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community with innovative solutions in sensor processing and advanced research. We are seeking a Contracts & Operations Administrator to help drive execution excellence across a portfolio of federal contracts and subcontracts, partnering with talented teams and business leaders to ensure compliance, efficiency, and impact.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys variety, and wants to grow their career rapidly while making a meaningful difference. You will operate at the intersection of contract administration, operational support, and cross-functional collaboration-no two days are alike, and your work will directly shape our success.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of federal contracts and subcontracts-from award through closeout-including modifications, extensions, and compliance updates.
  • Support proposal activities by reviewing solicitations, preparing reps & certs, ensuring compliance, and coordinating submissions.
  • Serve as a contracts advisor to internal teams, researching and interpreting FAR and agency-specific requirements to enable business success.
  • Collaborate with program management, finance, business development, and security to support contract execution, reporting, and operational needs.
  • Maintain and organize contract records, artifacts, and repositories; support administrative actions in our financial and other internal systems.
  • Assist with government property management, inventory, and compliance tracking as required.
  • Triage and respond to internal and external contract-related requests, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Support ad hoc operational and administrative actions as business needs arise.
  • Develop tools and processes that continually improve the contracts function and its support to Expedition as we grow.
The ideal candidate
Must Have:
  • United States citizenship (required for federal contract support)
  • 3 plus years of experience in contracts administration or business administration supporting federal government contracts
  • Demonstrated experience with contract and/or subcontract administration, negotiations, or proposal preparation
  • Solid understanding of federal government contracting environments
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and relevant agency supplements (e.g., DFARS)
  • Familiarity with common federal contract types, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Cost Reimbursable (CPFF), and Time & Materials (T&M)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Experience building continual improvement processes for contracts, finance, or other functions
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Experience working in or alongside small, growing organizations where roles may span multiple functions
Nice to Have:
  • Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs
  • Familiarity with government property management and FAR Part 45
  • Exposure to contract closeouts and lifecycle compliance activities
  • Active security clearance (TS/SCI is a major plus)
  • Experience with Unanet contract management/accounting systems
What Success Looks Like
  • Contracts and subcontracts are accurate, compliant, and well-organized
  • Internal teams receive timely, practical contract guidance
  • Proposal and post-award activities run smoothly and on schedule
  • Risks and issues are identified early and escalated appropriately
  • You are viewed as a trusted partner across programs, finance, and business development
