Description

Review, research, and interpret non-standard operative provisions and contracts submitted by various clients and external representatives.

Essential Functions

Prepares and maintains provider contracting documents

Review initial contracts and contract amendments, and execute

Follows up with providers for outstanding contracting information/documentation

Provides service and education to network providers during the recruitment process

Track contract negotiations with vision care providers for ongoing recruitment projects in assigned states/counties

Utilize necessary resources and navigate systems efficiently to accurately verify provider data

Maintain a positive and professional attitude; work with members of staff on identifying process improvements; and perform

other duties as assigned by management

Facilitate mass outreach efforts (email/fax blasts)

Generate recruitment reporting

Act as a liaison between Provider Contracting and other internal departments

Contribute to the creation of department SOPs

General supervision of completed work and monitoring against established goals

Use considerable discretion, judgment, and independent problem-solving

Requirements

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience

Minimum of 2 years experience in physician contracting

Minimum of 1 year experience with Medicare and Medicaid programs is preferred

Preferred Skills

Excellent influencing and negotiating skills

Ability to explain plan benefit compensation terms to physicians and staff

Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Strong organization and time management capabilities

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities

Ability to travel within short time constraints (occasionally)

Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge; ability to learn internal systems to explain plan, benefit compensation terms to physicians and staff
