Position Summary

The Project Controls Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing project controls processes to ensure effective planning, scheduling, cost management, risk tracking, and performance reporting across assigned projects or programs. This role ensures projects are executed on time, within budget, and aligned with contractual and organizational requirements. The Project Controls Lead partners closely with project managers, engineering, finance, and operations teams to provide objective analysis and visibility into project performance.


Duties And Responsibilities
  • Work with the Americas senior managers, project managers and project coordinators to ensure they are provided with effective. planning, estimating and cost control tools to support the execution of their projects.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the project controls procedure, continuously improving as required.
  • Ensure the Project managers receive performance management information and reports required for internal and external. stakeholders, and effective decision making.
  • Point of Contact for ECM Implementation.
  • Monitor actual costs versus budgets, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support monthly cost reviews and forecasting.
  • Lead project risk identification, quantification, and tracking, ensuring mitigations are properly planned and executed.
  • Manage the change control process, assessing impacts on cost, schedule, and performance, including validation of new procedures and policies for accuracy and compliance.
  • Drive consistency in reporting methodologies and metrics across projects.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve project predictability and performance.
  • Support and facilitate the implementation of a new communication platform (Ops & SE).
  • Evaluation and Implementation of tablets.
  • Participate in Project Handover meetings and support bidding process.

HSE:

  • Support Project Managers as needed to ensure adherence to customer and internal requirements.
  • Actively participate with LMT Team representing IMDS.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of 10 years' industry experience, with 3 in a supervisory position.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with project planning principles and software.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with budget control systems, and cost estimating, benchmarking and forecasting.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with Commercial contracts and subcontracts.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with document control.

DESIRED:

  • Degree qualified.
  • An understanding of risk and MoC processes and their application, awareness of cost and schedule risk analysis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

  • A proven capability of providing clear and concise information that will assist PM decision making.
  • Strong written and interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to influence others in a collaborative and non-confrontational manner.
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience of working within multicultural teams and in the coaching and development of staff.
