Lead Field Services Engineer - Implementation
Position Summary

The Lead Field Services Engineer - Implementation provides technical leadership for complex, large-scale hardware and software deployments across customer environments. This role serves as the on-site technical lead, overseeing implementation teams, coordinating with clients and vendors, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate combines advanced technical expertise with strong leadership, communication, and project execution skills, and is comfortable operating in highly dynamic, travel-intensive environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee field implementation teams during on-site deployments and rollouts



  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders during implementations



  • Plan, coordinate, and execute complex deployments involving applications, hardware, telephony, and networking equipment



  • Provide hands-on technical leadership for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and system validation



  • Assess customer requirements and develop effective technical solutions aligned with project objectives



  • Manage implementation timelines, priorities, and resources to meet project deadlines and service-level expectations



  • Ensure adherence to Project Management and IT Change Management processes throughout the implementation lifecycle



  • Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating appropriately and driving timely resolution



  • Document technical configurations, implementation steps, and post-deployment outcomes



  • Mentor and support Field Services Engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement



  • Travel extensively to customer sites to support and lead implementations



Required Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, telephony systems, and networking equipment



  • Extensive experience leading deployments involving applications, hardware, telephony, and network infrastructure



  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and maintain effective client and vendor relationships



  • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate requirements and design appropriate solutions



  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation and customer-facing communication



  • Proven organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines



  • Solid understanding of Project Management methodologies and IT Change Management concepts and tools



  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 100%



Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a Lead or Senior Field Services Engineer role



  • Experience working in multi-site or enterprise-scale implementation projects



  • Familiarity with common project management tools and reporting frameworks
