Circulation Assistant

We are hiring a Circulation Assistant to work for a local library. While working here, you will positively impact the community by assisting withorganizingspecial events and getting creative while preparing library displays and decorations.If youhave phenomenalcustomer service and interpersonal skills andlikeengaging with others, this is a position you can thrivein!

Pay: $11 per hour

Schedule:

We ask that candidates who applybe flexible in their availability.Hours of operation are9AM -6PM,Monday-Friday, and9AM -1PM Saturday.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of related experience (education canbe substitutedfor experience)
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Essential Functions for the Circulation Assistant will include, but are not limited to:

• Help patrons locate materials using the electronic catalog system and other libraryequipment.
• Assist with loan requests for books, periodicals, and othermaterials.
• Shelve materials
• Straighten shelves and maintain cleanliness and order in thelibrary.
• Identify damaged items
• Provide essential technology assistance to patrons using the library's computers, network, and printingdevices.
• Scheduling of programs such as preschool story time, book or activity clubs, seasonal or holiday displays, and crafting activities
• Create promotional materials for library programs, such as bookmarks andflyers.
• Visit local businesses, churches, schools, and community organizations to display promotional materials and market libraryservices.

While working in this meaningful role, you will operate essential office equipment and use Microsoft Office Suite and Publisher. We ask that candidates be familiar with computers, e-reader tablet technology, andstandard library functions, practices, and procedures.
