Position description

THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA IRVINE SCHOOL OF LAW invites applications for the role of Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Professor for Fall 2026.

We are searching for one or two Visiting Professors for the 2026/2027 academic year to teach (1) a 3-unit Environmental Law survey course, (2) a 3 or 4 unit Property Law survey course (number of units to be determined at the time of hiring), or (3) a 3-unit environmental law survey course plus a 3 or 4 unit property law survey course (number of units to be determined at the time of hiring).

Successful candidates will be appointed a Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Professor, depending on experience. Applicants must be affiliated with the faculty of another law school and have teaching experience in Environmental Law and/or Property. Applicants must hold a J.D. degree or equivalent from an accredited institution. In addition, they must have demonstrated excellence in teaching.
