Location Type: This is an on-site position located in Greenville, SC.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Machine Builder, you will leverage your advanced mechanical expertise, deep understanding of precision assembly, and strong craftsmanship to build complex custom automated machinery from the ground up. This role requires mastery in mechanical assembly, system integration, troubleshooting, and validation of highprecision equipment.

You will take the lead in assembling sophisticated automation systems, ensuring exceptional fit, finish, and performance. In addition to handson build responsibilities, you will provide technical guidance, mentor junior builders, and collaborate closely with engineering on design improvements and build efficiencies.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Build and assemble custom automation equipment according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions

  • Perform precision mechanical assembly, ensuring exceptional fit and finish

  • Assist with machine debugging, testing, and validation

  • Work closely with engineering to resolve build challenges and improve designs

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

  • Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe workplace

  • Support machine installation and commissioning at customer sites as needed (may require travel)

What You'll Bring:

5+ years of proven experience as a Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, or equivalent role within custom automation or machinery manufacturing

Advanced mechanical aptitude with expertlevel handson assembly skills, particularly in building complex, highprecision systems

Exceptional attention to detail with a seniorlevel focus on precision, alignment, quality, and overall craftsmanship

Strong ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot mechanical drawings, CAD prints, schematics, and engineering documentation

Deep experience with mechanical assembly tools, including hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and precision measuring equipment

Proficiency with pneumatics, linear motion systems, industrial bearings, gear drives, and hardware commonly used in automated machinery

Working knowledge of electrical/panel wiring and system integration (or ability to collaborate effectively with electrical teams)

Strong problemsolving abilities, with a track record of diagnosing build issues, identifying root causes, and recommending improvements

Ability to lead by example, mentor junior builders, and support continuous improvement in build processes

High school diploma or GED required; advanced technical training, trade school completion, or apprenticeship strongly preferred

Prior JR Automation or relevant custom automation experience is highly preferred and valued at the senior level
