As we work with agencies to deliver critical services, we're also changing how the government approaches technology.

At Ad Hoc, remote life empowers our teams to design work environments that fit their lives and that foster flexibility and collaboration to achieve positive outcomes for our customers.

Committed to high expectations and a welcoming culture

Ad Hoc values acceptance, accountability, and humility. We aren't heroes. We learn from our mistakes and improve the process for the next time. We build small, inclusive teams to collaborate closely with our partners to solve the right problems and deliver software that works.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of engineering experience

  • Modern Content Management Systems (CMS): Drupal, WordPress, or similar

Experience integrating and extending CMS platforms to support structured content, API-driven delivery, and scalable information architectures

  • Full-Stack JavaScript/TypeScript with React (hooks, context, modern patterns)

Ability to build complex, type-safe user interfaces while also wiring them to backend services, AI pipelines, and real-time data sources

  • USWDS (U.S. Web Design System) and responsive design frameworks

Proficiency implementing federally compliant, accessible interfaces that can present AI-generated content, dynamic data visualizations, and multi-format health information across devices

  • State management and async data handling (Redux Toolkit, React Query, SWR)

Essential for orchestrating complex UI and backend interactions-such as streaming AI responses, fetching real-time health data, and maintaining user session and interaction context
