Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist will execute procurement strategies in alignment with organizational priorities and regulatory requirements. This role involves sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. The position requires strong attention to detail, compliance with FAR/DFAR guidelines, and collaboration with internal teams to support project and mission requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement strategies in accordance with established priorities and guidance.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, issue, and manage solicitations for quotes and proposals.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, pricing, lead times, and delivery requirements with suppliers.
  • Review and interpret customer requirements to ensure procurement compliance; resolve uncertainties as needed.
  • Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to develop and translate specifications, BOMs, and SOWs for procurement packages.
  • Monitor supplier performance, track deliveries, and manage risks related to long-lead items, delays, or non-compliance.
  • Maintain procurement documentation, audit trails, change orders, and supplier records for audit readiness.
  • Update procurement logs and purchase status on program trackers.
  • Work with Finance to reconcile budgets, track costs, and identify cost avoidance opportunities.
  • Support audits, corrective action plans, and vendor risk management; ensure vendor qualification documentation is maintained.
  • Prepare shipping documents such as DD254 and DD-1149.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, ethics, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with warehouse, carriers, or freight forwarders.
  • Match purchase orders, invoices, and receipts for reconciliation; resolve invoice holds and discrepancies.
  • Assist Finance with month-end close documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR flow-down requirements.
  • Attend weekly procurement meetings and interface with subcontractors regularly.
  • Respond promptly to RFIs from leadership and provide accurate timecard entries daily.


Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of relevant procurement experience.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations and government contracting requirements.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation for audits.


Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.


Work Experience

  • 1-3 years of prior procurement or supply chain experience.


Additional Job Details

  • Position is onsite in Ridgecrest, CA.
  • Initial training includes shadowing a senior team member for the first three months.
  • Typical duties include managing procurement tasks, supplier calls, and documentation.
  • Must maintain accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
