SUMMARY: The Sr. Director, Applications Platform will lead product development, marketing, market analysis, and strategic planning for Cytek's reagents and application-related offerings across RUO, ASR, and IVD markets. This leader will manage assigned product managers, ensuring product portfolios align with company objectives, integrate with other Cytek platforms, and meet annual revenue and profitability goals. The role requires close collaboration with R&D, operations, sales, service, marketing, business development, and executive leadership.

Product Development

  • Lead and oversee portfolio planning for Reagents and Applications to ensure a strong pipeline that meets customer needs and delivers market share, revenue, and profitability targets.
  • Guide Voice of Customer (VOC) research, define product requirements, and ensure competitive benchmarking is incorporated into development in partnership with R&D and PMO.
  • Partner with R&D and other platform leaders to ensure timely and successful product launches that enhance the value of the full Cytek portfolio.
  • Define and present new product concepts to the Product Review Board to achieve long-term financial objectives.

Product Marketing

  • Define market leadership strategy for the Applications Platform.
  • Set annual goals, team KPIs, and performance targets; monitor and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications on global lead generation, promotions, and technical marketing plans.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to optimize eCommerce channels, expand reagent market share, and increase recurring revenue.
  • Build and maintain a global key opinion leader (KOL) network.
  • Drive product refinements to maintain competitiveness in RUO, ASR, and IVD markets.
  • Lead product launches, ensuring full commercial and operational readiness.
  • Partner with PMO to refine product development and launch processes.
  • Manage departmental budgets and support custom product development when needed.

Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Develop and maintain market segmentation for the Applications Platform.
  • Lead competitive intelligence efforts and create strategies to address market challenges.
  • Partner with scientific leadership to produce proof sources and technical content to support product claims.

Strategic Planning

  • Participate in annual revenue planning and identify growth drivers.
  • Partner with strategic marketing on future product strategy and competitive positioning.
  • Identify and address organizational capability and process gaps.
  • Recommend partnerships to fill product portfolio gaps.
  • Participate in Board of Directors and Scientific Advisory Board meetings as required.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, business, engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • 15+ years of leadership experience in biotechnology, biopharma, or life sciences
  • 10+ years of people management experience with a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, preferred.
  • Successful track record of building processes, tools, and departmental capabilities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and strategic planning skills.
  • Background in regulated environments (e.g., cGMP, ISO13485) and regulated products (e.g., IVD, ASR) preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Prolonged periods at a desk using a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Up to 30% travel, including international travel.
