Job Description




As a Security Officer - Part-Time Patrol Driver Weekends in Merrillville, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible throughout the site. This is a driving post, so you will navigate the property as you perform routine patrols and respond to situations as needed. You will also provide outstanding customer service and clear communication, embodying our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter of the chemical and petrochemical location to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential hazards.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual or suspicious behavior, reporting findings according to site requirements.
  • Complete detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and the client's site procedures.
  • Communicate with site personnel, visitors, and contractors, providing assistance and information as appropriate while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Support emergency response efforts by following site-specific procedures and assisting first responders as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
