As a Security Guard- Shelter Institution Patrol - Full Time in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a shelter location, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with residents and staff, provide outstanding customer service, and respond to situations as they arise. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, residents, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within the shelter environment.
• Respond to incidents and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shelter and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter prohibited items and activities.
• Communicate observations and incidents to Allied Universal management and site leadership as required.
• Complete security-related reports and documentation accurately and promptly.
• Assist residents and visitors with information and directions as needed while maintaining a visible security-related presence.

Minimum Requirements:

• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
