Overview

Apogee is seeking a Configuration Manager to support Space Systems Command (SSC).

The SSC is currently made up of five Program Executive Offices (PEOs): Space Sensing (SN); Military Communications and Position, Navigation, and Timing (MCPNT); Assured Access to Space (AATS); Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SDA&CP); and Battle
Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3). These PEOs have the authority to provide Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) services across their respective SSC PEO portfolios of programs, enabling systems, and subsystems.

This position can sit in either El Segundo, CA or Colorado Springs, CO and is cross posted.



Responsibilities

    Work as part of a team to develop an SSC and PEO CM Plan (CMP) and establish and maintain strict change control processes and procedures. The change control processes and procedures shall include applications, data stores, and documentation
  • Support Configuration Control Board (CCB) / review board processes for the Program Office, including planning, minutes, and actions
    • Assist the Government in developing and administering configuration management plans; maintaining design traceability and integrity; convening and managing change boards; and preparing for and attending major events
  • Follow standard National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) directives to ensure process rigor with programs and ensure all changes to the system that are going through development and testing are reviewed before being moved into production
  • Provide support to maintain CM of program system software releases, monitor the installation status of each new release, provide oversight, recommend enhanced solutions, and conduct fault isolation
  • Provide a Technical Baseline Documentation Master List that includes, but is not limited to, system and subsystem configurations, program POC, current approved configuration, and the configuration history and approver(s)
  • Manage changes to the Technical Baseline Documentation Master List as well as manage legacy system specifications and interfaces
  • Manage configurations of software, engineering documents, design drawings, engineering changes, and notices, and participate in design audits
  • Assess recommended changes for dependencies, impacts to the technical baselines, risks, clarity and completeness of change documentation, and potential transition issues
  • Support Engineering Assessments and prepare for, conduct, and/or support major audits such as Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs) and Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs). Record and maintain assessment and audit findings, minutes, and action items
  • Work closely with program management, systems engineers, and product support specialists in an integrated product team environment


Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have at time of applicaiton and be able to maintain a Secret level clearance
Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering, mathematics, computer science, or equivalent technical discipline
Years of Experience: 3+ years of experience performing the risk management process on space-related (space, ground, software, hardware system) Major Defense Acquisition Programs

  • Experience with supporting overall engineering integration of Systems Engineering and Integration efforts for the DoD, government agencies, or commercial programs
  • Knowledge of IAW AFI 63-101/20-101 and AF PAM 63-128
  • Ability to develop, document, execute and update program Risk and Issue Management Plans, process, and products
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and propose program risks, issues, and handling plans
  • Ability to facilitate, manage and participate in the Government Risk Management Boards, to include preparation, distribution and presentation of agendas, briefings, reports, meeting minutes and action items

Additional Experience:

  • Experience performing systems engineering, integration, and test on enterprise systems
  • Experience with planning and executing System Integration of complex Space/Ground systems
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02

Preferred Qualifications:
Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance

Certifications: INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP)

Education: Master's degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline
