The Clinical Information System Department is committed to the University of California Davis Health System's mission of quality education, research, and community service by facilitating patient care through availability of well documented and Electronic Medical Records and clinical systems, databases. The Department is comprised of many complex multi-faceted teams. This position will work on the Epic Medications Team.
The Pharmacy Willow Inpatient Specialist will be a member of the Willow Pharmacy Team with the responsibility to oversee and participate in the building and maintenance of Pharmacy systems within the Health Systems information systems, integrated medication record and pharmacy related applications. Under the direction of the leadership of Clinical Information Systems, the Pharmacy Willow Inpatient Specialist position is responsible for the coordination, build and configuration of the Willow Inpatient, Willow Ambulatory, Willow Inventory, Beacon and pharmacy related functionality within the integrated health record.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- California Pharmacist License eligible and possess a valid license at the time of hire.
- Willow Inpatient, Willow Ambulatory and Beacon Certification within 6 months after hire.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree or related health care field and/or Pharmacy Residency or equivalent clinical experience.
- 3 years of pharmacy inpatient and ambulatory operations experience.
- Experience in pharmacy medications.
- Knowledge and experience with First Data Bank, NDC, HCPCS, AWP, and Ambulatory billing functions.
- Experience implementing clinical systems in a large, integrated healthcare system with inpatient, outpatient and hospital outpatient departments (cancer center, hospital service department (HSD)), etc.
- Knowledge of inpatient, outpatient, ED and ancillary/procedural department pharmacy workflows and processes.
- Knowledge of testing principles and databases.
- Knowledge of clinical workflows.
- Knowledge and experience developing, supporting and testing interfaces from Electronic Medical Record to Pyxis and outpatient pharmacy systems.
- Ability to design, build, and test Clarity reports to monitor output and interfaces.
- Ability to analyze medication data and reports to monitor output and interfaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic certification in Willow
- Experience working in an academic institution
- Experience implementing EMR medication pharmacy system
- 3 years of pharmacy computer implementation and/or computer maintenance experience
- Experience working with interfaced/integrated multi-vendor applications
Key Responsibilities
- 70% - Develop, support and maintain Pharmacy Willow Inpatient System in the EMR and related applications and systems
- 20% - Work with testing Analyst lead for Rx testing for Willow Inpatient/Willow Ambulatory
- 10% - Implementation Support
