Union HVAC Technician - JLL What this job involves: Step into an essential role as a Union HVAC Technician with JLL at Rush Medical Center, where your expertise will directly impact the comfort and safety of patients, staff, and visitors. This position offers the opportunity to work with sophisticated HVAC and refrigeration systems in a dynamic healthcare environment, applying advanced technical skills to maintain critical building infrastructure. What your day-to-day will look like: * Perform comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of all HVAC electrical components across various equipment types * Execute complete system charging and startup procedures for large-scale chiller operations * Repair and rebuild critical pumps and compressors to ensure optimal system performance * Utilize proper testing equipment to diagnose pneumatic, electric, and electronic control systems * Interpret technical documentation, drawings, and manuals to guide maintenance activities * Conduct independent problem-solving for complex HVAC system malfunctions * Maintain detailed records of all repair and maintenance activities Required Qualifications: * Current CFC (Chlorofluorocarbon) Certification in good standing * Minimum 5 years of hands-on commercial HVAC refrigeration experience * Demonstrated proficiency in large facility HVAC system maintenance and repair * Strong independent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities * Experience with pneumatic, electric, and electronic control technologies * Proven ability to work with technical drawings, manuals, and specifications * Knowledge of chiller systems, rooftop units, and associated HVAC equipment Preferred Qualifications: * Background in hospital or critical facility environments * Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) * Understanding of indoor air quality standards and regulations * Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor controls * Knowledge of steam and hot water heating systems * Basic welding and fabrication skills Location: Chicago, IL Work Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM Salary: $47.92/hour Estimated compensation for this position: 99,673.00 - 99,673.00 USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
