Role Summary

The Enterprise Insurance Risk Management Team is seeking a Senior Manager, Insurance Claims & Contract Management to lead all aspects of claims and litigation strategy for Rivian's corporate and manufacturing risk portfolio. This includes management of self-insured programs, insurance-related contract compliance, and high-stakes litigation oversight. You will partner cross-functionally with Safety, Legal, Finance, and third-party insurers to streamline claims processes and ensure strategic resolution of all loss events.

This role is responsible for developing organizational strategy for claims, vendor performance, insurance litigation tracking, and contract negotiations. You will help design and scale the tools, dashboards, and workflows that empower Rivian to manage enterprise risk proactively. This role reports to the Head of Insurance Risk.

  • Design and operationalize an integrated risk infrastructure during a pivotal phase of Rivian's growth.

  • Serve as the cross-functional leader interfacing with Legal, Finance, Safety, Security, and Procurement to manage risk, reduce liability exposure, and optimize outcomes.

  • Lead the implementation of claims management technologies and partner ecosystems to enable data-driven decision-making.

  • Ensure contract compliance and drive negotiation strategy for all insurance-related provisions across the enterprise.


Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of day-to-day operations of claims administration: intake, ongoing management, loss analysis, reporting, and vendor management.

  • Develop and manage self-insured loss protocols across captive or balance sheet-financed programs.

  • Oversee insurance claims related to Integrated Disability, Fleet & Non-Fleet Auto, General Liability, Marine Cargo, Property, Product Liability, and Management Liability.

  • Define and implement operational strategy for insurance litigation, including tracking, resolution, and external counsel management.

  • Review, negotiate, and ensure compliance with insurance and indemnity clauses in vendor and third-party contracts.

  • Serve as key relationship manager for external insurers, TPAs, and law firms. Establish KPIs and lead performance reviews (MBR/QBR).

  • Implement and optimize claims/incident management technologies and platforms.

  • Provide reporting and insights across claims data-lag time, reserves, indemnity, financial loss, trends, etc.

  • Partner with Procurement, Safety, Legal, and Facilities to align on claims investigation and resolution strategy.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree; Juris Doctor or related graduate degree a plus.

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in claims management, insurance litigation, and contract negotiation.

  • Expertise in P&C lines with focus on Commercial Auto and Products Liability.

  • Proven implementation of enterprise risk operations in fastmoving, highcomplexity environments.

  • Familiarity with selfinsurance structures and thirdparty vendor oversight.

  • Executivelevel stakeholder leadership across internal and external partners.

  • Deep knowledge of claims software and risk analytics platforms.

Preferred

  • Insurance designations such as CPCU, AIC, or ARM.

  • Adjuster licensing in key states.

  • Experience building teams and infrastructure from scratch in highgrowth/tech/startup settings.


Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Atlanta, GA based applicants: $176,200 - $220,300 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).
