Location(s): Hingham, MA

Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team at our Hingham, MA facility. The R&D organization is responsible for developing, designing, and manufacturing automatic transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, and power control systems. These products support critical infrastructure-hospitals, data centers, utilities, mass transportation, and other environments that depend on highly reliable power systems.

In this role, you will work under the guidance of senior engineers while contributing to enhancements of existing products and the development of new solutions aligned with our product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop mechanical components for electrical distribution equipment.
* Conduct testing of mechanical components.
* Design, identify, and select components, materials, and parts suitable for mechanical systems.
* Create mechanical models and perform tolerance analyses to validate design concepts.
* Prepare calculations, final layouts, documentation, and specifications for parts, assemblies, and finished products.
* Maintain technical product files and ensure documentation accuracy.
* Analyze existing development processes and recommend improvements.
* Implement, evaluate, and test design solutions.
* Enhance existing device designs through added mechanical elements.
* Assess localization requirements and adapt designs for regional needs.
* Travel to manufacturing locations, testing labs, suppliers, and customer sites as needed for new product implementation.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience including:
    • (Key experience) .Creo/ProE - 3D solid modeling for component or system design in
    • Direct or related R&D/design work involving mechanical aspects of electrical power distribution products.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States permanently without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS).
