JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

Trust Client Service Specialist 2's are primarily responsible for the initial opening and closing of accounts for Trust Relationship Managers and Advisors. This position is responsible for independently prioritizing account openings and closings as production is received and proactively assisting and supporting client facing relationship managers regarding trust administration and business development with complex relationships

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for monitoring and completing the account opening and closing process for all Trust Line of Business accounts including fiduciary review and due diligence.
  • Reviews new client agreements and fiduciary documents for appropriateness.
  • Provides guidance and support to the Trust relationship managers in the account opening and closing process in all but the most complex relationships.
  • Responsible for ensuring that management tracking tools are maintained for use by Client Services and Wealth Management.
  • Responsible for verifying sales and incentive credit on all opening accounts and all lost fees on closing accounts for monthly reporting to Trust Administrative Committee.
  • Independently performs and/or monitors account maintenance on the trust accounting system including account opening and closing procedures.
  • Serves as liaison between Trust Relationship Managers and key stakeholders such as Trust Operations, Trust Compliance, and Trust Tax during the account opening and closing process.
  • Responsible for account documentation in compliance with Bank/Trust Department policies, procedures and any applicable federal/state laws and regulations
  • Responsible for ensuring initial reviews are completed on all managed accounts. Responsible for organization of new account client files, either paper or electronic.
  • Keeps current on all developments, applicable laws and regulations within individual field and provides guidance to associates in the Trust Department, as necessary.
  • Expected to participate in process improvements and maintenance of Relationship Manager and Client Services checklists, workflows and tracking reports.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
  • 4 years of related experience preferably in trust administration or financial analysis.
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of Trust administration and operations preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Advanced Excel and Word skills required.
  • Detail orientated with strong organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
