Position Description

This position will lead the Seattle office's business development and marketing effort for the Federal sector primarily with an emphasis in the Seattle, Pasco, and Portland offices, and increase the number of Federal contracts with existing clients; expand the scope of services we provide to existing clients for Federal contracts; and identify and win work with new clientele in the Federal sector.

Full-Time and Part-Time candidates will be considered.

Job Responsibilities

  • Expand the range of services we provide to existing clients; and identify and market new clientele.
  • Identify upcoming opportunities through GovWin and SAM, as well as through SAME, Agencies and other networking sources.
  • Maintain a list of firms that pursue Federal projects and have an interest in teaming with Shannon & Wilson.
  • Develop networking relationships with other consultants pursuing federal work.
  • Includes calls, lunches, and meetings at conferences. Maintain contact with the primary civilian design leads for USACE District offices, NAVFAC NW, and USCG FDCC.
  • Work with marketing personnel to update brochures showing our experience with these agencies.
  • Keep abreast of all our current Federal contracts. Know when they will expire, and track revenue generated from these contracts.
  • Track tasks and generate appropriate marketing tools to assist teaming partners to achieve award of the tasks.
  • Actively participate in SAME local, regional, and national events as and encourage involvement from all Shannon & Wilson offices as appropriate.
  • Serve as a reference for any questions from our offices regarding Federal agencies procurement procedures and other questions that might arise from our offices regarding acronyms or other things uniquely Federal.
  • Stay informed regarding changes to Federal procurement or other regulations that could impact how we do business with agencies. Includes SB vs LB definitions, cyber security (CMMC requirements), proposed pending changes to the FARs, etc.
  • Review engineering technical reports and documents, engineering calculations, and construction observation reports as requested.
  • Advise and provide suggestions/recommendations to enhance engineering and construction processes and possible issue resolutions on client related projects.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor existing staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements

  • BS degree in engineering with at least 20 years of experience in the Federal Sector.
  • Supervisory and management skills required.
  • Must have excellent writing, organizational, prioritization, accuracy, efficiency, attention to detail, and very strong communication, management, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced atmosphere, with a good understanding of the time critical nature of producing financial and other reports, and the importance of providing superior client service.
  • Must be personable, flexible, and professional.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver license and insurable driving record.
  • This position requires critical thinking and analysis; frequent sitting, standing, and walking; ability to travel (drive or fly) to other Shannon & Wilson offices, and to and from job sites locally and out of state.
  • Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, required; MS Access, desirable.

Level Placement

Typically, depending on an applicant's education, experience, and other qualifications they possess, if they are a fit for the company and local office culture, and the current business needs, typically would be placed at a Shannon & Wilson Associate Vice President or Vice President level.

Compensation:

The minimum annual compensation for this role is $170,000 per year, but adjustments may be made based on a candidate's experience level or skill set.
