Lead Financial Operations Analyst Clinical Research for the College of Medicines Center for Clinical Research Management ( COM CCRM); responsible for the development, negotiation, and administration of clinical trial budgets and revenue collection; serves as a subject matter expert; provides guidance/supervision to assigned team members; sets, and reviews, work assignments; assists with monitoring the workloads of the finance team; participates, with the Manager, Financial Operations - Clinical Research, in the performance review process; participates in the interviewing and hiring new staff; onboards and trains staff; oversees study budget development(internal and external vendors) and negotiation of external sponsor budgets/payment terms; directs and oversees collaboration with research staff, investigators, and appropriate OSU departments to determine research costs for Protocol specific clinical trial activities; manages and ensures the set-up and communication to clinical teams of all budget forms needed for each trial to help ensure billing compliance including PA005s and budget study summaries; ensures new study activation timelines are met; provides oversight for quarterly sponsor invoicing through appropriate Advarra applications (e.g., CTMS Oncore) for studies; provides oversight for subject activity entry into Oncore and ensures invoicing timeliness and correctness per the study contract; maintains information on outstanding revenue and escalates issues to the Finance Manager; oversees completion of quarterly financial summary reports of affiliated groups ; presents financial quarterly reports to CCRM affiliated groups; administers/implements project budgets; reviews/approves research bills and expenses related to specific trials; provides oversight of departmental personnel payments; works with the finance team to reconcile all research project expenses with general ledger; manages/oversees the trial financial close-out; provides fiscal reporting related to project/department post award activities and implements fiscal processes/procedures that ensure adherence to appropriate internal controls and compliance with established policies and procedures; responsible for providing oversight and guidance on timely creation study calendars in Oncore; ensures that new clinical research groups are provided fiscal onboarding; assists, oversees, and completes financial audits trains clinical research staff on all fiscal related procedures; serves as the fiscal manager security role in Workday.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Level Degree in relevant financial field or equivalent experience

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in relevant financial field or equivalent experience required. 6 year's experience in financial accounting or budgeting required; spreadsheet and Microsoft PowerPoint proficiency required Requires successful completion of a background check. The selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Additional Desired Qualifications

Financial experience in a healthcare environment preferred; considerable research budget and contract management experience at a public academic research institution desired; experience negotiating grant budgets preferred; knowledge of OSU Office of Sponsored Programs research accounting policies and procedures desired; advanced knowledge of financial tools and software applications highly desired.
