Assistant/Associate Professor, Computer Engineering

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering ( ECE) at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Engineering. Candidates at the Associate Professor level may also be considered.

We aim to recruit innovative and enthusiastic teachers and researchers whose work strengthens the University's goals of excellence in next-generation networked, cyber-physical, and intelligent systems. We seek candidates whose research contributes to advanced computing architectures and provides new paradigms in the areas of edge computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud-based computing, and other related areas that support secure, connected, and data-driven applications.

On the Graduate level, the College has 8 Masters of Science Degree programs, and 5 Doctoral programs. The 5 research cluster areas of the College of Engineering ( COE) are Autonomous Systems, Cybersecurity and Resilience, Energy and Sustainability, Healthcare Applications and Complex Systems and Networks. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is the largest department in the College of Engineering with over 400 students in its four degree programs. The four programs are a BS in electrical engineering, a BS in computer engineering, a MS in electrical engineering, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in electrical or computer engineering by anticipated date of appointment.

Demonstrable evidence of preparedness to establish an independent research program.

Demonstrate commitment and success working in a diverse and multicultural community.

Successful candidates should have an outstanding research record in the aforementioned areas of interest, have a demonstrated track record in research collaborations and writing proposals for externally funded research programs, have profound background in programming with strong written and oral communication skills and should be committed to excellence in teaching and research.
