Overview

Rapiscan Systems designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Our products range from hand held metal detectors to Real Time Tomography used to inspect baggage, cargo, people, vehicles and other objects for people, weapons, explosives, drugs, money, and other contraband. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as, airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations and nuclear facilities.


Responsibilities

To support Rapiscan Quality Assurance in our Detection business in Andover. The role is an important part of our quality team that ensures world class standards of our Trace detection systems used in the security screening market, enabling Rapiscan to provide the highest quality, and most reliable, detection devices in the industry.

This role will carry out quality inspections and final acceptance testing of our Trace detection systems. This may include, goods receipt, in-build, final assembly operations and packaging checks. The selected individual is expected to provide input into quality inspection plans and control plans. Complete and issue production record books/system quality records.

  • Perform incoming material inspection / testing.
  • Perform in-process inspection across operations, as required.
  • Perform outgoing inspection on final product.
  • Clearly document all nonconforming conditions within the ERP database to allow subsequent processing of the disposition and Material Review Board activities.
  • Input inspection and test data into databases and reports on trends including data analysis and presentation.
  • Complete reports and check data prior to release of final product, including feedback to production.
  • Produce and provide input into inspection and control plans as required.
  • Ensure non-conforming products are correctly identified, assist MRB with disposition and further action.
  • Undertake or assist in CAPAs including containment and corrective actions.
  • Assist with monitoring calibration status of controlled equipment and tools.
  • Other activities as requested by line management

Qualifications

  • Must have a positive proactive attitude to work, be self-motivated, work proficiently independently as well as with the team.
  • Good communication skills
  • High School diploma, minimum
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Quality Inspector in an Electromechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with general measuring equipment
    • Understanding of ISO9001 quality standards would be an advantage.
    • Ability to follow procedures to verify final equipment release for shipment.
  • Proficient at interpreting Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Drawings.
  • IT skills able to use Office365 applications competently.
  • ERP systems experience, D365 would be advantageous.
