What to Expect
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Manager to support our development teams and contract manufacturing partners in the sourcing of Direct Supply Chain components and parts used in Tesla Solar products.The Supply Chain Manager builds and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. They work toward good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers.
What You'll Do
- Participate in design reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering partners and comfortably communicate both internally and externally to drive decisions from cost and supply reliability perspectives
- Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews
- Planning and Forecasting:Develop and execute supply strategies for PV modules and cells, proactive mindset, mitigating risks, and ensuring seamless scalability amid Tesla's rapid growth
- Cost Analysis:Conduct in-depth cost modeling and optimization to identify efficiencies, reduce expenses, and drive value without sacrificing quality or innovation
- Negotiation:Lead supplier negotiations with precision and foresight, securing advantageous terms that align with Tesla's high standards and long-term vision
- Legal and Contract Management:Draft, review, and oversee contracts to safeguard interests, ensure compliance, and enable agile responses to market shifts
- Cross-Team Collaboration:Work closely with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, finance, and leadership teams at Tesla to foster alignment, share insights, and solve challenges collaboratively, breaking down barriers to accelerate progress
- Communicate key supply, cost or quality issues with management teams anddevelop corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of professional experience in supply chain, knowledge in PV modules, cells, or renewable energy components preferred
- Proven expertise in planning, cost analysis, negotiation, and legal/contract work, demonstrated through tangible results
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment
- Mandarin proficiency preferred for enhanced communication with international partners
- A genuine passion for Tesla's ethos of sustainability, innovation, and radical simplicity
- Ability to evaluate respective supply dynamic and provide comprehensive supplier scorecard
- Travel up to 25% of the time

Expected Compensation
$101,280 - $189,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
