Overview
The Telecommunications Coordinator will work independently within policy guidelines and direction from the Director of Telecommunications toproduce plans, reports, presentation materials and web content. This position will also write, format, and update text, lists, graphics, and other information delivered to the public and media, in accordance with established State brand standards. A significant amount of writing is required in various formats from social media to reports and others. Quick comprehension of technical data and programs and an ability to distill that information into easily understood communication to the public is critical. The position will coordinate public events, such as press events and other community marketing activities throughout the year. Monitor the Department website to ensure appropriate content, consistency, and timely updates of communication content and messaging. Additionally, this position will work on communications and special projects as requested by the Commissioner's Office. This includes dentifying, designing, and executing outreach and communications strategies and plans related to the Department's implementation of programs and to support the Department's strategic objectives. This work may include working directly with program staff, managers, division directors, and/or the Commissioner's office. The Coordinator will:

Normal office working conditions generally prevail, with some travel to field locations and meetings, for which private means of transportation is required. Some public speaking, attendance at public meetings and testimony before committees and boards is required. Evening, weekend, or overtime work may occasionally be necessary. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree AND two (2) years or more of experience in communications, public policy, telecommunications, private industry, or a regulatory agency. OR Four (4) years or more of experience in communications, public policy, telecommunications, private industry, or a regulatory agency. Preferred Qualifications
