Full-time Faculty Positions

Full-time faculty positions will be posted on a per-opening basis. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Applicants will be evaluated at the college/school level for the position which they are submitting an application. Unless noted by a close date, positions will remain open until they are filled. Part-time Faculty Positions

DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

Position Description:

The School of Nursing in the College of Science and Health at DePaul University seeks to fill a full-time term (non-tenure track) faculty position for the pre-licensure programs including primarily Master's Entry into Nursing Practice (MENP), RN and BSN programs. While all specialties may apply, we are prioritizing those with medical-surgical experience. If reappointed, this is a 10-month position (Sep 1 to Jun 30). The start date will be January 1, 2026 and the initial appointment will end June 30, 2026.

Key Responsibilities



  1. Responsible for modeling the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration, and active support of the University's Mission in Catholic and Vincentian higher education.
  2. Providing didactic and clinical instruction of pre-licensure nursing students in the areas of medical-surgical nursing. Approximately 60% of the teaching responsibility will be for clinical instruction.
  3. Engaging in course development, updating and submission of course syllabi in required format, assessment of student outcomes, research and development of resources for instruction, utilization and development of instructional design methods that include technology, and evaluation of student performance in meeting the objectives for the course and program.
  4. Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the purpose, philosophy, and objectives of the nursing education program.
  5. Contributing to the development and evaluation of student policies.
  6. Serving as lead faculty for main courses and mentor adjunct faculty.
  7. Maintain educational and clinical expertise in areas of teaching.
  8. Advising prelicensure students.
  9. Serving on College of Science and Health committees and providing leadership for School of Nursing committee.

Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in a nursing field is required, doctoral degrees are preferred.
  • Equivalent of three or more years of clinical experience as a RN required.
  • Must be licensed or eligible for RN licensure in the state of Illinois.
  • Experience in teaching pre-licensure students and in didactic teaching preferred.
  • Experience in medical-surgical and critical-care preferred.

About DePaul University's Academic Calendar
Except for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).

Salary Information: The salary range for this 10-month position is $68,600 - $84,370, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
