The Role

As part of Lumen's Finance Modernization and Simplification (M&S) initiative, the Senior Analyst, Record to Report (R2R) Transformation, supports the migration of R2R processes from the U.S. to India Shared Services. The role ensures smooth knowledge transfer, documentation, and digital integration of accounting and reporting workflows. The analyst will work closely with the GPO and AI Finance Pod to enable automation and accuracy.

The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and actively seek opportunities to drive innovation through AI, automation, and evolving technologies, demonstrating growth mindset and adaptability to advancing digital finance landscapes.

Location

This is a remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S., with a preference for those based in the Denver, CO metro area. International travel will be required for this position (20-30% expected).

The Main Responsibilities
1. R2R Transition Leadership
  • Execute the migration of journal entry, reconciliations, close, and reporting processes.
  • Coordinate with U.S. finance teams for documentation and validation.
  • Assist in readiness assessment, knowledge transfer, and post-transition stabilization.
  • Support creation of process KPIs and dashboards for control tracking.
2. Transformation & Digital Enablement
  • Collaborate with GPOs and AI Finance Pod to redesign workflows embedding automation and AI.
  • Document AI use cases for reconciliations and account analysis.
  • Participate in system integration testing for automation tools.
  • Ensure consistent data governance and reporting integrity.
3. Governance, Controls, and Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with SOX and internal control standards.
  • Assist in documentation of audit trails and internal control updates.
  • Monitor control effectiveness post-transition and address gaps promptly.
4. People Leadership
  • Work as part of a cross-functional transition team ensuring alignment and support.
  • Promote a collaborative and process-driven culture.
5. Stakeholder Partnership
  • Partner with GPOs, finance operations, and AI Pod members to ensure alignment.
  • Provide progress reports to the Senior Manager and Finance leadership.
  • Support cross-functional meetings and process reviews.
Key Deliverables
  • Seamless transition of R2R activities with maintained control compliance.
  • Documented SOPs and future-state process maps.
  • AI-enabled reconciliation and close activities.
  • Improved cycle time and accuracy.
What We Look For in a Candidate

Required:

  • Minimum 5-6+ years of experience in Finance, specifically in corporate controllership and accounting (Record to Report/R2R).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or Business.
  • Experience working with SAP, Oracle, Workday or comparable ERP platform.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to document processes, train counterparts (including offshore teams), and manage cross-functional process transitions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and drive innovation in process improvement.
  • Willing and able to travel internationally (including to India).

Preferred:

  • Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, or similar).
  • Experience in a role supporting finance transformation or shared services migration in a global context.
  • Prior work in or with global accounting firms or technology companies.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Palantir, AWS, or Microsoft platforms is a plus.
  • Exposure to automation, AI-driven finance solutions, and digital enablement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of compliance with SOX, internal controls, and audit requirements during transformations.
  • Leadership in training peers, supporting knowledge transfer, and fostering operational excellence.
Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$66,375 - $88,500 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$69,694 - $92,925 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$73,013 - $97,350 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA
