Technical Specialist IIin GAC Appleton Unique Skills: DUTIES: Perform detailed estimating and analysis tasks supporting impacts to aircraft weight and balance and flight envelope. Establish and support control methods for weight and balance of in-process and completed assemblies and installations. Support actual weight and balance of aircraft, directly interfacing with various organizations within completions. Track and maintain all mass properties information and support maturing of internal processes. Guide successful completion of major engineering programs or conceive research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of company products and services. Select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues. Be consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field. Anticipate and resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Approach problem solving by balancing technical product, cost, and schedule. Work without appreciable direction, having work reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results. Exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments. Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative. Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field required. Ten years of experience in job offered or related engineering position required, including any experience with: adhering to aggressive schedules and budget requirements; engineering design and systems analysis; mass properties analysis including weight, balance, and inertia; structural systems design; interpreting and understanding engineering drawings and specifications; and with the material properties utilized in the aircraft manufacturing process. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field and ten years of experience, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field and eight years of the above-requested experience or a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field and six years of the above-requested experience. In lieu of a degree, Employer will accept twelve years of the above-requested experience. Must have legal authority to work in the U.S. EEOE. Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
