Associate Production Manager
Apply School of Dramatic Arts Los Angeles, California The USC School of Dramatic Arts invites applications for a full-time Associate Production Manager (APM) who will co-supervise our School of Dramatic Productions. The APM will work with the school's Production Department and report directly to the Production Manager. The APM will function independently on projects as well as assist with departmental issues; working with guest/student designers and Area Heads to facilitate the physical production needs of graduate productions within the available schedule, labor, and budget parameters. In addition, the APM will direct staff and student workers and supervise the operation and maintenance of one or more theatre studios/laboratories/facilities for the School of Dramatic Arts. The position will provide advanced or specialized studio/laboratory technical expertise to faculty, staff and graduate or undergraduate students in the design and use of equipment, facilities, and materials. The individual in this role will have direct responsibility for policy and procedure development, as well as budget and procurement accountability. Additional duties may include production management of extra-curricular events hosted by the school in various venues. The ideal candidate has knowledge of all aspects of theatre production, operations, and procedures and is an equity-minded professional who will bring innovative practice to production management. Required skills include familiarity with hiring protocols, analysis, budget development and expenditures management, strong written and oral communication skills, conflict resolution, risk management and scheduling prowess. Successful candidates will demonstrate career leadership and have familiarity with and understanding of standard Actor's Equity Association (A.E.A.) stage management practices and procedures. While academic credentials are desirable, all equivalent experience in the professional arena is also vitally important. Starting salary range: $82,000K-$87,000 depending on experience. The USC School of Dramatic Arts (SDA), founded in 1945, is recognized internationally as a leader in theatre education and its application to stage, screen, and other industries.
