Inova Clinical Analytics is looking for a dedicated Clinical Data Analyst to join the Team. This hybrid role will be full-time day shift working Monday - Friday located in Fairfax, VA. The Clinical Data Analyst performs data analysis and reporting to support the implementation of clinical effectiveness, performance improvement, and service line initiatives across Inova Health System. Provides quality assurance, data validation, and report generation to support the department. Synthesizes data into meaningful information in selected functions. Clinical Data Analyst Responsibilities:
- Maintains a thorough understanding of available software and maps departmental needs to available solutions.
- Enhances team's data analysis capabilities.
- Communicates regularly and effectively with team members and supervisor.
- Manipulates and interprets data from clinical databases, coded data, and other specified data sets.
- Develops and tests reports and analyses from various sources, including but not limited to - quality and financial outcomes databases, electronic health record, and safety event data.
- Ensures assigned projects meet all established objectives and timelines.
- Supports department team members on use of applicable software and database applications.
- Validates or models data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from the data for decision-making purposes.
- Responsible for creation, timely submission, and distribution of numerous monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc data reports/scorecards.
- Prepares data and reports for use by various stakeholders, including internal and external sources (e.g., CMS, NHSN).
- Collaborates with department team members to design queries, reports and presentations.
- Uses appropriate statistical, visual and narrative displays of data in a manner that is easily and appropriately interpreted by the target audience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree; or Associate's degree and 2 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required; or HS Diploma/GED and 4 years relevant professional experience in addition to the minimum experience required
- Experience: 3 years of experience in healthcare data analysis and decision support, including demonstrated proficiency with analytical software, data tools, data visualization, and business process documentation tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Epic experience preferred.
- Previous experience using PowerBI preferred.
