Maternal Fetal Sonography Tech Lead Job Responsibilities:



  • The Maternal Fetal Sonography Technologist Lead administers sound patient care practices to Maternal Fetal patients, according to hospital and department policies/procedures, to ensure the safety of the patients.
  • Provides clinical services according to the Maternal Fetal Medicine Group Imaging practice standards to detect fetal anomalies and act as a resource to physicians, fellows, residents, imaging students and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.
  • Demonstrates effective safety for patients, staff and self.
  • Develops and assists in continuous performance improvement within the Antenatal Testing department in order to maintain optimal quality maternal fetal patient care.
  • Demonstrates leadership and independent judgement necessary to support an effective work environment
  • Explains procedures to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety and ensure patient cooperation.
  • Serves as a department reference for obtaining optimal imaging for interpretation/identification of anomalies within Maternal Fetal patients.
  • May perform additional duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Degree from Accredited Sonography Training Program
  • Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required upon start.
  • License:

    • American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) Registration required upon start.
    • Successful completion of the Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program is required within 6 months for team members without the Nuchal Translucency Certification.

  • Experience: Eight years of recent hospital experience or equivalent in a Maternal Fetal Medicine Group.
