Overview

Lead Lending's Strategy to align with enterprise strategies, goals, and initiatives, and driving innovation across experiential, processes, and products. Collaborate with product, technology, and channel teams to enhance performance. Develop roadmaps to understand and track progress against strategic goals. Serve as a thought leader on emerging technologies to enhance Lending's analytical and operational capabilities. Manage strategy and analytical teams focused on the holistic member experience, competitive intelligence, AI and innovation. Collaborate with product and portfolio teams to understand key performance drivers. Provide holistic performance analysis for all member key interaction points across Lending. Enhance analytical capabilities for deeper performance insights, supporting the CLO, product leads, MSO, and Collections while aligning pricing and volume recommendations with credit risk.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and leads Lending's long-term strategy and programmatic strategic initiatives
  • Leads and enables the execution of enterprise and Lending strategic initiatives
  • Develop strategic roadmaps to ensure projects are assigned accordingly and meeting defined timeline
  • Plan and coordinate consolidating of information for business updates and presentations
  • Oversee financial planning, providing insights into complex planning, trade offs and key business decisions
  • Provide leadership and direction for the Strategy division while serving as a trusted advisor to the Chief Lending Officer, as well as executive and department leadership
  • Create and execute, in coordination with Member Strategy, Portfolio Management, ETS and Digital departments, a future-focused strategic plan across all products and services within the Lending Organization.
  • Drive transformative changes that advance Lending's ability to serve our members; define the art of the possible by leveraging technology, innovation, and data to reimagine the way we think, interact, and serve our members across all Lending products and services
  • Adopt and implement strategies to better serve our members through digital transformation (e.g., data and analytics, change management, AI, machine learning, etc.)
  • Lead Lending's integration efforts with the Member Strategy Office; drive horizontal strategies within Lending that support the enterprise strategy. Oversee the team the serves as the primary conduit between Lending and the MSO
  • Lead member experience efforts in Lending by examining multiple journeys across products and services to identify opportunities to streamline processes, create efficiencies and provide a consistent and seamless experience. Focus on using technology to enhance member service and personalization
  • Serve as a strategic thought leader to drive transformation and demonstrate the ability of continued innovation and constructively challenge the status quo
  • Create and lead business analytics and insights group
  • Leverage data to enhance our understanding of business performance across a variety of product and demographic lenses to inform product, operational and pricing strategies
  • Drive insights to improve financial performance, member service and key business decisions
  • Create a holistic view of Lending's operational and financial performance by establishing key performance metrics that will serve as the single point of truth, and proactively use data driven analysis to help the department achieve its strategic goals
  • Drive horizontal collaboration across Lending and the Enterprise
  • Lead business unit finance department for Lending; responsible for financial planning and analysis to include Annual Financial Plan and quarterly forecast. Serve as a key strategic partner to the Finance organization to provide a deeper understanding and alignment between the business unit and the Finance team
  • Establish credibility throughout Navy Federal, and with executive peers, as an effective spokesperson for his/her area of responsibility, and developer of financial solutions for business challenges
  • Provide positive leadership to the division through teaching, training, employee engagement, succession planning, and mentorship programs. Strong focus on people development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Extensive experience with leading edge technologies including practical knowledge of how to use them in a financial institution setting
  • Extensive experience in leading and managing an analytics operation, preferably in a large financial institution; experience with evaluating risk vs return analysis
  • Expert knowledge of data querying, reporting, forecasting, analysis, and operations research, including statistical methods and modeling
  • *Collaborative working style with strong focus on people development
  • Extensive experience in demonstrating thought-leadership, initiative taking, decision-making and creativity in solving business problems
  • Expert skill interpreting and synthesizing large amounts of information
  • Expert analytical/quantitative, reconciliation and deductive reasoning skills
  • Significant experience in driving change management and influencing organizational culture and values
  • Expert skill leading with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence
  • Expert skill in being adaptive/flexible; acquire, recognize & apply new information
  • Expert skill in results-oriented leadership in a challenging environment
  • Extensive experience in managing cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects of the highest complexity which have business risk and impact
  • Extensive experience in supervising and leading professional employees
  • Expert skill influencing and building consensus with business partners
  • Expert verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
