OSI Laser Diode, a division of OSI Optoelectronics has an opening for an Assembler 4. This candidate will be responsible for optical aligning & YAG laser welding of fiber optic components. They will also include wire bonding & lower-level assembly of the fiber optic components. Higher level assembly to include hermetic module sealing & testing of the final products according to customer specification sheets and company policy. This individual will have the ability to interface with engineering for troubleshooting, yield issues & product improvements.


Responsibilities

  • Active fiber alignment to laser & detector products.
  • Fiber Re-alignment (PFA): re-align fiber pigtails using tweezers & microscope.
  • Package assembly: submount installation & wire bonding.
  • Production tracking & data collection, adding data to inventory control system.
  • Parallel seam sealing: set up & sealing of butterfly & DIL packages.
  • Capping: set up and align a header and a cap on to the welding machine. The machine welds the header to the cap.
  • Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 4+ years of experience with electro-optical components, fiber alignment, YAG laser welding, packaging assembly, and soldering required.
  • Must have excellent hand/eye coordination & manual dexterity.
  • Excellent attention to detail is needed.
  • Knowledge of ISO Standards and Procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the business language (English).
