DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
- Takes personal accountability and leadership to support and continuously foster a workplace that promotes safety first for our co-workers, customers, communities and the environment. This includes following regulation and compliance standards set by government agencies.
- Develop and manage DOT compliance programs including driver qualification files, vehicle maintenance and inspection reports, hours of service regulations, fuel tax receipts, vehicle licensing, and transportation of hazardous materials. Supervise other employees working on these tasks.
- Participate in the investigations of incidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine root cause and propose related initiatives or changes to prevent future incidents.
- Under the direction of the HSE Manager, create and administer standard operating procedures to ensure the company is compliant with regulations, and following best practices.
- Conduct safety compliance and driver safety training.
Customer Focus
- Knowing the (internal and external) customer business needs and acting accordingly; anticipating customer needs, and giving high priority to customer satisfaction and customer service.
- Educate employees on the FMCSA's CSA safety program, monitor the company's compliance within its scoring system (BASIC), and report the company's results to management.
- Manage internal cost management systems to support fleet investment and adjust maintenance standards.
- Create and distribute reporting on DOT performance as well as company program compliance.

- Provide expert technical advice, coaching and guidance to management and employees on safety, compliance and best practices
- Perform other miscellaneous related duties, as needed.
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor's degree in a business related field, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL license preferred
- Min 10 years' experience in a heavily compliance focused role
- Experience managing documentation.
- Experience developing talent
- Working knowledge of emergency response procedures
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Sound judgment and decision making
- Effective communication skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, ascend or descend stairs, and walk for extended periods of time in an office or manufacturing setting or outdoors, including areas where conditions may include odors, varying temperatures, humidity, and moderate levels of noise
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, protective footwear; additional PPE may be required for certain company facilities such a respirator and chemical suit
- Must be able to work outdoors in both extreme heat and extreme cold for prolonged periods of time.
