Our Team

The Georgia-Pacific Sensory and Consumer Science Team is part of the Innovation Team which leads the strategic long-term product and technology innovation road mapping across the CPG product lines. We do so in collaboration with our category and insights partners and with a focus on connecting consumer perception to technical and measurable attributes of our products. What You Will Do

  • Leading a wide range of sensory research including foundational research and historical literature deep dives to develop points of view (POVs). Becoming familiar with the range of sensory profiles and attributes seen in products across the CPG categories.
  • Designing and executing consumer learning studies against critical business questions, starting from initial scoping, through the proposal, bidding, data acquisition, analysis and reporting phases while masterfully managing the timelines and expectations of our customers.
  • Developing study protocols, screeners, questionnaires, and stimulus, including guidance for product preparation and handling, to maintain consistency and accuracy in data collection. Liaising with external preferred partners on study parameters to maximize learnings.
  • Influencing product development and business teams by transforming data into insights to drive decisions and by communicating key findings to stakeholders in an effective manner. You will easily flow between generating simple analyses to building and maintaining advanced predictive data models.
  • Leveraging AI sensory tools and a deep knowledge of sensory statistical methods to transform the capability.
  • Working as part of an integrated team of product developers to optimize user experiences, identify meaningful points of product differentiation, and translating insights into market-relevant claims.
  • Supporting building new descriptive panels as needed.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Degree (Master preferred) in Sensory Science, Consumer Science, Psychology, Statistics, or other related fields with relevant experience.
    • Consideration: BS with 5-10 years industry experience in a wide range of sensory analyses and consumer (qualitative, quantitative) testing techniques and their applications
    • OR MS degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong foundational knowledge and experience with sensory study design and analysis.
  • Experience applying statistical software to data analysis and insight activities.
  • Experience presenting plans and findings to a wide variety of stakeholders.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • More than 5 years of experience in a sensory research role.
  • Experience leading groups of people through complex data analysis and interpretation.
  • Experience with consumer product development and insights.
  • Possess deep intellectual curiosity to solve for our consumers' greatest needs.
