Shift:40 hours per week, 3-12-hour shifts and 4 hours of administrative time.
Department: Respiratory Therapy
Compensation:

* Base Pay Range: $34.38 - $52.08 per hour, based on experience.

* Special Pay: Additional $8.00 per hour until 11/28/25

* Shift Differentials:

o Additional $2.00 per hour for evening shifts

o Additional $4.00 per hour for night shifts

o Additional $3.00 per hour for weekend shifts

o Additional $5.00 per hour for weekend evening shifts

o Additional $7.00 per hour for weekend night shifts

* Choose Between Sign-On Bonus -OR- Retention Rewards

o Sign-On Bonus: $10,000

o Retention Rewards:

* Relocation Support: $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away.

* Student Loan Repayment: $2,000 per year towards student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000.

* Enhanced Retention: $5,000 after 6 months, $3,000 after 12 months, and finally $2,000 after 24 months.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

* Facilitate clinical interactions and provide continuity of clinical respiratory care 24 hours per day. Act as clinical expert for assigned area. Instruct other respiratory staff in use of specialized equipment or procedures for assigned area. Monitor research activities for specific area in order to ensure compliance with standards and data collection requirements. Initiate and Maintain Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance projects for the specific area.

* Represent Respiratory Therapy at patient care conferences. Assure multi-disciplinary interaction with nursing, medical staff and other Departments.

* Work independently to administer services via approved protocols and guidelines.

* Provide respiratory therapy activities including the following: collection and analysis of blood gas samples; oxygen therapy and specialty medical gas administration; mechanical ventilation; inhaled medication administration; airway clearance techniques; airway maintenance; pulmonary diagnostic testing and clinical monitoring.

* Act as member of the Code Blue, Rapid Response Team, and Trauma Response Team.

* Provide patient documentation through the electronic medical record. Follow infection control and safety standards.

* Educate and advise patients' families on respiratory therapy procedures.

* Perform PH-blood gas analysis. Setup, maintain and clean, PH-blood analyzers. Assure compliance with CAP/CLIA standards.

* Plan, develop, implementation, and assessment of orientation and continuing education for staff. Responsibilities include coordinating and providing new staff orientation; insuring staff are oriented to policies or technology before implementation; coordination of student rotations; and assisting with Department Quality Assurance. Serve as liaison between outside schools and hospital. Insure all items of contract are met by both school and hospital. Coordinate with other Hospital Departments on education needs.

* May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) licensure by the Missouri Board for Respiratory Care.

* Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

* Two (2) years of experience in clinical respiratory therapy, pulmonary function testing or PH-blood gas analysis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in health science.
  • Additional license/certifications requirements as determined by the hiring department.
