Empire Disposal, a Waste Connections Company, is hiring aPreventative MaintenanceTechnicianto support our fleet operations inColfax, Washington. This is anintermediate-level opportunitydesigned to grow into aDiesel Mechanicrole. If you're mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and looking for a long-term career path, we want to hear from you! Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday | 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Overtime: 1-3 hours/week on average
Compensation & Perks:
  • Total Starting Pay:$25.00 - $30.75/hour
  • Tool Allowance:$350/month
  • Annual Boot Allowance: $400
  • Company paid and provided CDL training
  • Uniforms Provided

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performpreventative maintenanceon garbage trucks, trailers, and support equipment
  • Usefleet maintenance softwareto manage service records
  • Conduct safety inspections and maintain a clean, OSHA-compliant shop
  • Collaborate with drivers to identify and resolve vehicle issues
  • Complete repairs based on DriverVehicle InspectionReports (DVIRs)
Qualifications:
  • At least two years of hands-on experience performingpreventative maintenancein a professional environment
  • Background in commercial vehicle ordiesel engine maintenanceis highly desirable
  • Must hold avalid driver's license
  • Required to have a personal set of basic tools and a toolbox
  • Comfortable using computers and diagnostic software for troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Brings a strong work ethic, a positive mindset, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role
