The Sanmina facility in Austin, Texas provides precision machining and mechanical assembly services to customers. Precision machining capabilities include vertical milling, horizontal milling, and turning on a wide range of materials including aluminum, copper, composites, stainless titanium, and high alloy steel with a milling envelope of up to 60" x 50" x 40". The facility specializes in high-mix, low volume production and also offers sub-assembly, integration, New Product Introduction services, and clean room assembly.

Job Purpose

TheQuality Engineering Internwill be assisting in the daily overview of production and new product introduction activities. The Intern will be mentored by a Quality Engineer on understanding and resolving manufacturing quality issues.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities



  • Utilize quality tools and disciplines in response to customer quality concerns and internal quality improvement plans.
  • Develop work instructions for inspection/testing for QC personnel Design and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy
  • Perform RCCA and CLCA and recommend corrective action for customer quality concerns and complaints. Support RMA/MRB material disposition.
  • Develop inspection check fixtures.
  • Report on particle count for clean room.
  • Help in addressing Supplier Quality issues.
  • On hand type of person, mechanical engineering, special process engineering.


Education and Experience



  • Working towards a four year degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Some college coursework completed.
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Experience with Microsoft office.
  • Expertise in MS Excel or Google Sheets

Salary Range(annual): $54,080 - ($26.00 per hour) . Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
