Engineering Intern

The Sanmina facility in Austin, Texas provides precision machining and mechanical assembly services to customers. Precision machining capabilities include vertical milling, horizontal milling, and turning on a wide range of materials including aluminum, copper, composites, stainless titanium, and high alloy steel with a milling envelope of up to 60" x 50" x 40". The facility specializes in high-mix, low volume production and also offers sub-assembly, integration, New Product Introduction services, and clean room assembly.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

• Duties will require Intern to work with Senior Manufacturing and Project Engineers to create detailed internal drawings for tools and fixtures from Cad Data.
• Develop, deploy and maintain MPI (Manufacturing Process Instruction) and OMS (Operational Method Sheets). These are necessary documented process sequences required to ensure proper and consistent assembly operations on the shop floor.

Education and Experience

• Working towards four year degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Some college coursework completed.
• Ability to work under deadlines
• Familiar with CadKey, Solid Works and /or Pro-E Cad software
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented
• Experience with Microsoft office

Salary Range (annual): $54,080 ($26.00 per hour). Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.
